1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Solo Potters website (the “Site”) and any products you buy from us. By visiting the Site, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Who we are
Solo Potters is operated by 宜兴市丁蜀镇陶土独奏陶瓷艺术工作室, a sole proprietorship registered in Yixing, Jiangsu, China, run by 全磊. You can reach us at contact@solopotters.com.
3. Using our website
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country, to use the Site or place an order. You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose, not to interfere with its operation, and not to attempt to access parts of the Site that are not intended for you.
4. Accounts
You can sign in with your email address and a one-time code, or with Google. You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and for anything done through your account. If you believe your account has been used without your permission, contact us at contact@solopotters.com.
5. Our products
We sell handmade Yixing clay teapots and related teaware. Each piece is made by hand, so no two pieces are identical. Slight variations in clay tone, surface texture, lid fit, and pouring behavior are inherent to the craft and are not considered defects.
Product photos are taken with care, but monitor settings can affect how colors appear. Minor color differences between photos and the actual piece are normal and are not grounds for return.
6. Orders and payment
All prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise. We may change prices at any time, but the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Placing an order is an offer to buy; we confirm the order when we accept it and process payment.
We may decline or cancel an order in cases such as suspected fraud, payment failure, or stock issues. If we cancel after payment, we refund the amount paid.
7. Shipping and delivery
Orders are packed and shipped from Yixing, China. Delivery times shown at checkout are estimates, not guarantees. International parcels pass through customs in both the origin and destination countries, which is outside our control.
Once a parcel leaves our facility, we are not responsible for delays caused by carriers or customs. If a parcel is lost in transit, we will reship or refund according to the terms of the shipping method you chose. We consider a parcel lost only after the period stated for that shipping method has passed.
8. Customs, duties and taxes
Any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or handling fees charged by your country are your responsibility. We do not collect or remit these fees. If you refuse to pay them and the parcel is returned to us, we will refund the product price minus shipping costs and a restocking fee, and only after the parcel arrives back at our facility.
For orders to the European Union, VAT may apply to all parcels from outside the EU regardless of value, in line with EU rules in effect since July 1, 2021. We do not collect EU VAT at checkout.
9. Returns and refunds
Changed your mind (14 days). Any buyer may return an unused teapot in its original condition within 14 days of delivery. Tea ware that has been used cannot be returned. Return shipping is paid by you, and we refund the product price once the piece is back with us. Refunds for orders outside the EU/EEA are reduced by the actual import duties and taxes we paid on the original shipment (amount available on request). For EU/EEA consumers, Section 10 applies and takes precedence.
Damaged in transit (7 days). If your order arrives damaged, write to us within 7 days of delivery — no need to send the piece back. Please include, to help us file a claim with the carrier: photos of the outer box from all sides (shipping label visible in the frame), the inner padding, and the damaged teapot; keep all original packaging until the claim is settled (discarding it can void a claim); an unboxing video, if you have one; and, where applicable, note visible box damage on the delivery receipt when you sign. We will refund the full order amount. Every shipment is insured up to its declared value; if a piece was damaged in transit we claim from the carrier and refund you in full regardless of the outcome.
How refunds work. Send your request by email to contact@solopotters.com with your order number. We review each request by hand and refund to your original payment method, usually within a few business days of approval.
10. EU right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. This right does not apply to perishable or hygiene-sensitive goods, including tea and food items. For teaware, the item must be unused, unwashed, and in its original packaging. You are responsible for return shipping and for the item until it reaches us. We issue the refund after the returned item arrives and passes inspection.
11. Intellectual property
The content on this Site, including text, images, and design, belongs to Solo Potters or its licensors and is protected by copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute it without our written permission.
12. Limitation of liability
We make no warranties about the products beyond those stated on the Site and required by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or loss of use.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be handled by the courts of Yixing, Jiangsu, China.
